No Teeland Flying this Friday

Hi Gang,

 

Just a quick reminder: There is no flying at Teeland this Friday the 29th or the following Friday January the 5th.  After that we are good to go for awhile.

Flying at Teeland tomorrow night

Hi Gang,

 

Tomorrow night there will be fun and flying again at the Teeland gym. Please remember that the following Friday the 29th we are not on the schedule.  So tomorrow will be the last flying session of 2017.

 

Kudos to all who helped welcoming the new people to our flying session.  Kelly Foreman brought six well behaved home schooled kids ranging in age from 6 to 12 years old.  Also, Gene and Sandra Ford brought two kids of there own. 

 

Don't forget to charge your batteries and I'll see ya tomorrow night for some flying fun.

Teeland Flying Tonight

Hi Gang,

 

I have got a nice Christmas Card for Pattie the Costodian and a $100 gift card to Kohl's.  We will try to get everybody to sign the card and then we will present it to her.  For thoes of you who have donated, thank you very much.  We are a little bit short so we are still accepting donations.

 

We will be able to fly next week 12/22/17 but the following week 12/29/17 the Gym floor will be resurfaced so no flying then.

Teeland Flying tomorrow night

Hi Gang,

 

Looks like we are good to go tomorrow the 8th.  Friday the 15th we are planning to presenting Patty the costodian with a gift.  BTW, Patty has been the best costodian in the last 4 years the I have been flying their.  We talked about just what we were going to get her.  In the past some of the gifts have been gift certificate from Fred Meyer and stuff like that.  Since Patty is a girl Jo Ann suggested we get her a $100 gift certificate from Koels.  That would be mostly girl stuff she would appreciate probably the most.  At any rate if you guys are good with that or whatever you decice, Lee has been asked to collect the donations.

 

Jo Ann and I both have the Flu and probably won't make it to tomorrow night session. Hope everybody has a wonderful time flying and we hope to be there next week to make the presentation to Patty.

Flying Teeland Tonight!

Hi Gang,

 

We are cleared for take off in the Teeland Gym tonight begining at 6pm.  As a reminder next week the Gym will be closed for Thanksgiving.

 

Last week we were all treated to a couple of  fun "Ukie" flights by none other than "Dizzy Don".  Also, please welcome Jeff Muller, Jeff flew a little R/C a few decades ago and is just now getting back into the hobby.  I arranged to get the Frontier Fun Flyer's club trainer for Jeff to fly.  This was a Night Vapor and Jeff had no trouble flying it all around the Gym.  He had so much fun with it that he drove into Anchorage and bought a Night Vapor and a DX6 from Anchorage House of Hobbies.  He should be flying his new setup tonight.  If you haven't met him yet please take a minute to introduce yourself to him.  He is the old gizzer with bushy grayish beard.

Indoor Flying at Teeland This Friday Night.

Hi Gang,

 

We are on this Friday night (11/10) for another night of fun flying from 6 -  9pm. 

 

Next Friday night (11/17) will open to flying as well.  But Friday the 25th is Turkey day and the Gym will be closed.

 

Turn out has been very good so far this season with lots of pilots flying and keeping thier skills up over the long winter.

 

"Dizzy Don Meyer" has been dazzling us with his control line "Baby Ringmaster" and keeping his control line skills up too!

Indoor flying at Teeland this Friday Night

Hi Gang,

 

We are setup for another fun evening of indoor flying at Teenland tomorrow night.  Make sure your batteries are charged and your planes and copters are ready.  We are scheduled for both gyms tomorrow night.

 

Last week we had a good turn out but flying was a bit challanging due to the kids running all around and sometimes getting in the way.  This week we should have the whole gym to ourselves!  Yea!

 

I am looking forward to getting some good flying in and seeing everybody there.

Teeland Indoor Flying

Hi Gang,

 

The way the wind is blowing around here today, flying outdoors is out of the question.  However, the forecast for Friday nights indoor session is for warm temperatures, calm winds, and good visibility........Perfect!

 

Teeland will be hosting some sort of school event this Friday night so the small gym will not be abailable to us.  So all flying will be in the large gym.  Also, we have been asked to please stay in the big gym and only use the wash rooms in the big gym.  So please don't go wandering down the hallways to other parts of the school.

 

All in all, we are a go for some fun flying  this Friday night.

Make sure your batteries are charged up and you have plenty of glue (LOL).

 

Flying so far this season has been really fun.  As we move into winter months, the attendance has been increasing so more fun for all.

Teeland Indoor Flying

Hi All,

 

Tomorrow night we will be flying at the Teeland Gym from 6pm to 9pm.

 

Fun was had by all at last Friday's flying session.  Except maybe for "Doc".  Bob Stevens scored a confirmed kill with his Fokker Triplane at the expense of "Doc's" Ember.  Sorry "Doc".

 

Don Meyers had a number of successful flights with his electrified "Baby Ringmaster".  Also, Jo Ann had a number of enjoyable flight with her "Night Vapor".

 

Ok Gang, let's do it again tomorrow night.

Indoor Flying Friday Sept. 28'17

Hi Gang,

 

We are on again for another fun evening of flying at the Teeland Gym.  There will be all kinds of fun indoor flying going on Friday night possibly including Control-Line!

 

This indoor season is getting off to a good start and a lotta fun has been had by all who have been there so far.  So..........  It's time to charge up those batteries and come out to the Teeland Gym 6-9pm for a night of pure fun!

Indoor Flying Fright Night

Hi Everybody,

 

We will be flying in the Teeland Gym again this Friday the 22nd, 6-9pm.

 

Last week we had some really fun flying.  Bob Stevens maidened his new Twisted Hobbies "Crack Fokker Dr. 1 Triplane".  It flew so well it looked like he had been flying it for years.  Good Job Bob!.

 

Don "Ukie" Meyers was at it again with his nastalgic 1/2A control line baby ringmaster.  This time with some new modifications and WOW, it flyies just as good as a baby ringmaster did in the old days with an .049.  After the first dizzying flight Don was still standing!

 

In between all that, there was some crazy 3D flying and Lee was enjoying doing some loops with his biplane.  Everybody had a fun evening.

 

Hope to see everybody this Friday again at the Gym.

Teeland Flying this Friday

Hi Everybody,

 

Last Friday evening was our first Teeland indoor flying session of the year.  The turn out was very good for the first session. Not only was there lots of RC flying but U-Control as well!  Don Meyers brought out a nastalgia U-Control 1/2 a size Ringmaster and had a number of successful and fun to watch flights.  Wow, now that was really cool.  Anybody up for U-Control Pattern or U-Control Combat?  All in all everybody had a fun evening of flying.

 

This Friday evening flying will begin at 6pm and last until 9pm, so get your batteries charged for another fun evening of indoor flying.

Season Opening at Teeland this Friday Night!

Hi All,

 

As the indoor season begins Gary & Teri Miner announced they were retiring and moving out of state.  As a consequence of this I was asked to take over thier duties as Teeland site manager.  I have already established communication with the Teeland management and we are good to go for another season of fun flying in the Teeland Gym.

 

The season opening will be this Friday evening beginning at 6pm and lasting to 9pm.

 

I hope everybody has had a wonderful fun filled summer and I am looking forword to seeing each and everyone of you at the opening session and each session of the season.

 

So, get your batteries charged and indoor planes and 'copters ready for the season opening this Friday evening!

There will be NO Teeland flying this Friday (10 Feb) due to a 3-day wrestling meet in both gyms.

 

The wrestling meet has been on the calendar for some time, but neither the school personnel nor us "connected the dots" that flying would not be possible with all the wrestling equipment set up.

 

We are currently on the school calendar every Friday night from now through 12 May 2017 EXCEPT the following Friday nights: 10 Feb 2017, 24 Feb 2017, 17 Mar 2017.
